Know what you pay for, and check it yourself

Your console shows the bookings and visitors Kompare sends you, publisher by publisher. Every click is logged with the price it was charged at. A click export lets you check a whole month against your invoice, so you never have to take a total on trust.

Your numbers at a glance

Click-outs, sales, booking value and commission for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, each set against the period before. Agencies that only pay per click see click-outs, click spend and the average price per click instead.

Return by publisher

See which publishers send you bookings, what those bookings are worth, and the ROAS of each: the booking value you get for every krone you pay in commission.

Every click in a log

Each click is listed with the publisher, the trip and the price it was charged at. Filter on free clicks, clicks without a price and clicks that ended in a booking.

A price that stays put

A click keeps the price it had when it happened. A later price change never rewrites an earlier click.

Caps you can see working

Clicks made free by a click cap are marked in the log, and the traffic view shows how much the cap saved you.

An export for your invoice

A click-by-click file for the previous month or week, as CSV or JSON. A monthly file also shows whether its total matches what was reported for billing.

What you see in the console

The dashboard gives you the overall picture. The Results page breaks it down by publisher: bookings, booking value, ROAS and the share of your booking value each publisher accounts for, plus booking value by niche and your top destinations.

The Traffic page has three tabs. Click-outs counts the clicks Kompare sent you. After the click shows what happened on your site next, as the Kompare script reported it. Log lists the clicks one by one. Click-outs and After the click answer different questions, so they are kept apart instead of being blended into one number.

Bookings and the After the click tab rely on the Kompare script on your site. The Click-outs tab, the click log and the export need nothing on your site.

  • Click-outs: clicks, click spend, clicks that ended in a booking and the conversion rate, against the previous period
  • The same traffic by publisher, niche, destination and trip, with clicks from widgets next to clicks from product feeds
  • After the click: visits and unique visitors from Kompare, bookings, the conversion rate and the publishers behind your visitors
  • The funnel through your own checkout, step by step, to see where visitors drop off before they book

Every click, and what it cost

The click log lists every visitor Kompare sent to your site. For each click you see when it happened, the publisher, whether it came from a widget or a product feed, the niche, the trip and the price shown at the time, the price the click was charged at, and whether it ended in a booking.

A click keeps the price it had when it happened. If a price changes during a month, the clicks before the change keep the old price, and the traffic view shows each price with its number of clicks and the total.

Some clicks are not charged. A click over your click cap still reaches your site, but it is free, and the log marks it. A click that never got a price is not charged either, and the log says so.

  • Filter by priced, free because of a cap, or without a price
  • Filter by widget or product feed
  • Show only the clicks that ended in a booking
  • Download the page you are looking at as a CSV

Check your invoice with the click export

The click export is a line-by-line file of the clicks Kompare bills you for, made so you can check an invoice instead of taking a total on trust. Send it on a schedule, for the previous month or the previous week, or create one whenever you need it.

A monthly export also shows whether its total matches the total reported for billing that month. If it does not, the export says so and tells you to contact support. A weekly export, or a month with nothing reported for billing yet, is not compared, and the export says that plainly instead.

The email you get holds a link, not the file. Opening the link needs a sign-in to your Kompare account.

  • The previous month or the previous week, on a day you choose
  • CSV or JSON, sent to up to ten email addresses
  • An export on demand, when you do not want to wait for the schedule
  • Files are kept for 12 months

How it works

  1. Switch on the export

In your console settings, choose month or week, a format and who should receive it. Or create one on demand.

  2. Open it from the email

The email holds a link. Sign in to Kompare and download the file.

  3. Compare the totals

Check the click spend against your invoice and, for a month, whether the export says it matches billing.

  4. Trace a single click

Find any click in the log by date, publisher or trip, and see the price it was charged at.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need anything on our site to see this?

The Click-outs tab, the click log and the click export are built from the clicks Kompare sends you, so they need nothing on your site. Bookings and the After the click tab come from the Kompare script on your site.

Can we see what each click cost?

Yes. The click log shows the price each click was charged at. A click made free by a cap is marked, and a click without a price is marked as not priced. The traffic view adds up the spend and shows what your click cap saved.

How do we check an invoice against the export?

Compare the click spend in the export with the clicks on your invoice. For a monthly export, Kompare also compares the total in the file with the total reported for billing and shows whether they match. For a weekly export, or a month with nothing reported yet, there is nothing to compare with, and it says so.

What is in the export file?

One row per click: when it happened, the publisher and widget, the niche, destination and trip, the price shown and the number of adults and children at the time, the price charged, whether a cap made it free, and any campaign that set the price. If the click led to a booking, its reference, value and commission. A visitor code, different in every file, lets you spot repeat clicks from one browser, and you can leave it out. The file holds no IP addresses.

Who receives the export?

The addresses you choose, up to ten. The email holds a link, not the file, and the link needs a sign-in to your Kompare account.
